Wondering how to make this small holiday all about love relevant to your small business? Here are a c collection of content creation and marketing ideas for your small business, that you can use this Valentine’s Day, to stand out online.
Marketing content ideas for Valentines or Galantines or Self-love can all be part of this micro-marketing trend.

Marketing Ideas for Product Businesses
If you are a product business here’s your big action for you that you can use the framework each year.
Write a blog post and duplicate it on your chosen social platform > like this one
Gather a collection of 5 or 7 products together that are perfect gifts fro Valentine’s Day. First, write a blog post about these products. You can then multiply or split this list into perfect for him/her / my dog/cat – to give you more than one blog post.
Don’t forget if you offer gift vouchers or workshops to include these in that list too. All the products need to have an easy 2 step “buy now” process.
Then add blog posts, videos or carousel posts to Instagram or TikTok too. That way you are creating content once and using it on 2-3 other channels.

Once you have the blog post live, pop all the images onto Pinterest, from your website as Valentine’s gifts, romantic trips away and self-care have been trending since early January.
If you want to take the blog post and turn it into a video, try a piece to the camera where you say the same as the post. Not in a robotic reading off a piece of paper kinda way 😉 But more about you, the maker, the creator, your space.
Tell your story, share your “why” Show off each of the suggested items, and tell us why the products would be perfect as a gift this Valentine’s Day.
Self-care products, Self-care time out and all the ways to care for yourself are all perfect to add to the gift guide this Valentine’s Day.
Or if you are not yet comfortable with talking to the camera. Try a behind-the-scenes video with a voiceover like this one. It’s faceless, powerful and it gets the message across in 90 seconds on Instagram. If you need help with your video content or getting camera confidence look at training.

Valentine’s Day Marketing Ideas For Small Businesses
If you are a service business and are stuck for what content to create then consider:
- 🎟️ Create a unique Valentine’s offer or discount / BOGOF ( Buy one get one free) couple offer. Make an add-on or upsell to the existing package you sell. So if you are a self-catering property add a free bottle of bubbly or a local hamper for example.
- 💕 Share the love for your customers/staff and humanise your brand by sending thank you letters like in the post. (I know crazy idea) Tell your customers how grateful you are for their business. This gets way more traction than when you send a Christmas card because, unlike Christmas where the post is in overload, mid-February is often quite a sparse month for the mail. This is a great way to stand out and remind your clients how valuable they are to you.
- Collaborate with complimentary brands and think about who you could have on your digital highway to support each other growth. Don’t forget if you are making a website blog post use those backlinks to share the love.
- This could be a gift guide, travel pack or how-to collection. Share this with your community and build your ideal client experience.
- Embrace user-generated content (known as UGC) by encouraging your customers and loyal followers to share how they are celebrating.
- When folks come to your restaurant or stay in your property, encourage them to share their photos and videos of the moment. You can do this by using a # on Instagram or asking them to tag you in the posts on Linkedin, Facebook or TikTok. Repost their photos and videos with a caption.
This is a social-first method of building trust and engagement with your followers and ideal clients.
Go beyond the mushy romantic silliness of Valentine’s Day and focus on celebrating all types of love like friendship. Including family, and community stories or initiatives of kindness and support. These stories are much broader than that Disney’s fantasy. Weave this into your social media and blog posts by being heartfelt and honest.
Social media has come away from the over-beautification of posting. We now want to see a human, real person behind any brand. We are striving to see the truth, honesty and integrity in brands. The question in 2025 is to prove that it’s not AI making this post or blog content.
Which one of these ideas are you going to try out?
