When it gets tough in business, what do you do?

I remember the crash of 2009 – it was bleak for my early business, I had two little kids and a house build to finish.

In 2017 my ex-partner did a number on me, and I lost 65% of my clients in the space of months.

Out of the blue, I lost my reputation and my retainer clients.

Lies, deceit and rumours flew about.

I lost my mobile phone number (which, to this day, I still can’t get over)

I just about recovered, rebuilt my brand, my website and contact details, then

I lost all my business in 2020 in a week when COVID struck

Like many of us, I never saw that coming.

I was heartbroken and poor, but worst of all I was homeschooling and trying to run a business on a shoestring.

The start of 2026 has been strong for me.

Last year, I pivoted to offer more smartphone photography and video workshops to large businesses.

This has been a game changer for me.

In person, live shoot workshops for teams supporting their marketing message –

ERG work captured

Charity work seen and shared

Content Creation given clarity

All the while helping the Marketing team’s content grow

I dance to a different beat than 2006, when I set my business up. Back then, it was all about beautiful photos, Wes Anderson styled shoots…..

My passion for photography and creativity has never left me, but the offers in my business have adapted.

…because if we don’t give up, we can never fail, right?
